GUWAHATI: The fight against corruption in Assam is still active on a large scale. The Assam administration, under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has stepped up efforts to combat corruption in order to promote accountability in government.
The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption of Assam has provided a number of helplines for reporting bribery charges as part of its increased fight against corruption.
As previously stated, the general populace has the right to protest against any government official or other staff member that asks for a bribe rather than resolving a problem.

The information at hand amply demonstrates the commitment of the Himanta Biswa Sarma administration to tighten the noose around corrupt employees. 101 complaints against dishonest government employees were filed from January 1 through October 29 of this year, and as a result, 115 dishonest public employees were arrested.
It should be noted that this year has seen the most cases registered and corrupt officials detained in connection with bribery cases than any other year since the 2019 election of the Himanta Biswa Sarma administration.
It has nearly become routine for states to arrest some government officials on a daily basis on suspicion of corruption thanks to the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption. The arrests unmistakably revealed the widespread dishonesty in government offices, even if the vigilance and anti-corruption wing has gotten high praise for their accomplishment in catching these dishonest people.
Earlier, Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, said, "Zero tolerance policy" in the fight against corruption. Police should have support from the people in their efforts to weed out corruption from the system.
These unscrupulous officials, however, appeared to have ignored the message and kept up their corrupt behavior.
Officers in charge of ranges, districts, and police stations throughout the state recently received a message on WhatsApp from the Assam Police's directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption alerting them that all of their "corrupt" behaviors were being watched.
